Main office at Springwell

Built in the mid nineteenth century, prior to the preservation of the railway this area was the Electricians workshop and store. It is now the site office housing the external telephone and where deliveries and the post arrive. This is the first port of call for visitors arriving on site on non operating days.

For a time the building was also used as an exhibition area for early site interpretation, before becoming the main office and providing a mess room and toilet facilities for volunteers, staff and the MSC scheme workers..
