Springwell passenger platform
This platform, constructed for the start of passenger services, also required Ancient Monuments consent. It is constructed of wood to give the appearance of a temporary structure required by Ancient Monuments.
The platform is built to accommodate four brake vans and an 0-6-0 locomotive. This same specification also applies to the run round loop at Pelaw Main Junction. However, as the Branch itself is outside the Scheduled Ancient Monument area, it allowed the Blackham’s Hill platform to be constructed with stone.
