Wagon No 122 in Pontop & Jarrow
Railway livery
100 iron-framed wagons were built by the Darlington Wagon & Engineering Company Ltd for the railway in 1887. They were originally supplied with grease axleboxes which were later changed to oil axleboxes. Because of the durability of their iron frames, some of these wagons were converted for other uses (eg reel wagons).

Wagon No 406 - steel frame. Converted from a tar tank wagon
Wagon No 406 was a tank wagon built to carry tar from Monkton Coke works. It has an iron frame and was converted to a hopper wagon at Springwell in 1963.
